Transfer and synchronize
S3Client transfers files and folder trees between local and S3 locations, and between S3 locations. Copying keeps the source; moving removes it after a successful transfer. Synchronization applies changes from a source folder to a destination folder in one direction.
Before starting, check the destination, read and write permissions, and replacement options. A move or a Mirror synchronization can delete data. Work already completed is not rolled back when an error occurs or an operation is interrupted.
- Copy, move and rename covers selections, the clipboard, drag and drop, and the effects of moving items.
- Choose transfer options explains conflicts, storage classes, ACLs, encryption and gzip.
- Copy between S3 accounts explains direct-copy domains and transfers relayed through your computer.
- Synchronize two locations covers
Update,Mirror, date rules and previews. - Monitor and cancel operations explains results, errors and logs.
- Tune transfer performance covers concurrency, multipart transfers and range downloads.
Account capabilities and policies tell S3Client which operations it can use with your service. Your credentials still need permission to perform them. The provider preset supplies the initial settings; you can adjust them in the account configuration.
