Administer buckets
Bucket settings define versioning and the actions the service performs on bucket contents. They are separate from account settings in S3Client and individual object properties.
In the S3 pane, select a bucket and choose Properties from its context menu. General shows its identity and lets you calculate its contents. Other tabs depend on the bucket type and the account’s configured capabilities; several editors require a single bucket selection.
To check capabilities, open File > Accounts…, select the account, click Edit…, then open Capabilities. Configure only features the service supports. These settings grant no permissions: your credentials must also be authorized to read or modify the bucket.
- Create, inspect and delete buckets covers names, regions, namespaces and content calculations.
- Configure bucket versioning and tags also covers Object Lock and default retention.
- Edit bucket lifecycle rules explains filters and automated actions.
- Configure static website hosting covers documents and redirects.
- Configure bucket access logging explains destinations, keys and immediate configuration updates.
Save changes with OK in properties. For encryption, Use settings prepares the change; OK in properties starts saving it. The access logging tab has its own buttons for immediate updates.
